The short version
The rebate checker is anonymous — we save the inputs (city, county, utilities, household size, income band) to generate a shareable results link, but never your name, address, or anything that identifies you. We only collect personal information if you subscribe to launch alerts or ask to be connected with a contractor.
Launch-alert subscribers
If you sign up for the Save Energy Minnesota launch alert, we store your email, optional ZIP, and the interests from your rebate check so the alert can be relevant. We use it for program updates and deadline reminders from the Buddy family of Minnesota tools. We never sell subscriber emails. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you from everything.
Contractor referrals
If you explicitly request contact from a contractor, we share the information you provide (name, contact info, project interest, and what our calculator estimated you qualify for) with one or more licensed contractors or contractor referral services, and we may be compensated for that referral. Consent to be contacted is never a condition of using the free tools, and subscriber emails are never converted to leads without your explicit request.
Cookies and analytics
No advertising cookies, no third-party ad trackers. Basic aggregate traffic analytics may be collected by our hosting provider (Vercel).
Data removal
To be removed, use the unsubscribe link in any email, or contact us with the email address you used and we'll delete the record.
